NUCLEUS
The NUCLEUS is an oval or round shaped.
The NUCLEUS contains the genetic materials of the cell. The genetic material of cell is known DNA.
Function of NUCLEUS is to control all the activities of the cell.
CYTOPLASM
The CYTOPLASM is a jelly-like substance made of 85% of water.
It’s the material between the cell membrane and the nucleus.
The CYTOPLASM contains salt, enzymes and organic molecule.
The function of CYTOPLASM is to provide a place for chemical reaction. It also storing dissolved substances.
CELL MEMBRANE
The CELL MEMBRANE is semi-permeable layer surrounding the cell.
It is called semi-permeable because it allows only certain molecules to pass through it.
The function of the CELL MEMBRANE are:-
a.To protect the cell.
b.To control the movement of substances into and out the cell.
c.To separate cells from its environment.
CELL WALL
Plant cells have CELL WALL. Animal cells do not.
CELL WALL is a ragid layer that surrounds the cell membrane.
The main component of the CELL WALL is cellulose, a form of carbohydrate.
The function of the CELL WALL are:-
a. To give the cell a fixed shaped.
b. To give protection to the cell.
c. To provide mechanical support for the cell.
VACUOLE
VACUOLES are sacs found in the cytoplasm.
A single membrane surrounds the vacuole.
Plant cells have large vacuole but, in animal cells it usually very small.
VACUOLE contain CELL SAP that made up from sugar and dissolve substances.
The function of VACUOLE are:-
a. To store useful substances as well as waste substances.
b. To provide support when full of water (plant only).
CHLOROPLAST
CHLOROPLAST are found in plant cells but not in animal cells.
CHLOROPLAST contain chlorophyll
Chlorophyll - absorbs energy from the sun for photosynthesis.
Photosynthesis – process where plants make their own food.
